The house rules

Our server rules

A little consideration keeps a shared world enjoyable for everyone. Please read these before joining.

General rules

  1. Don’t be a dick.

    No x-ray, hacks, theft or griefing.

  2. This server is 21+ only.

    HomesteadCraft is an adults-only community.

  3. Respect the people around you.

    No derogatory or hateful language. Please avoid divisive topics such as religion and politics.

  4. Give your neighbors room.

    Build outside other players’ render distance unless they have given permission, and at least 500 blocks away from the north, south, east and west warp points.

  5. Travel is part of the experience.

    There is no /tp, /home or /back. Directional warps help you reach farther parts of the map.

Build thoughtfully. Keep lag down.

Please be mindful of hoppers, automated farms, villagers, decorative entities and large mob collections. Staff may discuss builds that put pressure on server performance.

  • Avoid excessive hopper networks and large numbers of automated farms.
  • Keep villager populations, including unemployed villagers, reasonable.
  • Be mindful of item frames, signs, banners and other decorative entities.
  • Avoid excessive concentrations of mobs.
Further examples listed on the live rules page

These are published as possible additions or red flags, rather than numerical limits:

  • Large entity-heavy farms, such as chicken or guardian farms.
  • Large slime farms.
  • Complex, constantly running redstone, especially many minecarts or extensive item transport.
  • Large quantities of dropped items.
  • Unoptimized storage systems.

Ask staff if you’re planning something large and aren’t sure about its impact.
